Rust is a fairly new programming language with a focus on memory safety and productivity. The programming language can also be used in embedded systems. DEMCON also develops products containing embedded software.
This assignment is about a proof of concept Rust application on a microcontroller board. Parts of the assignment include porting Rustpython into the microcontroller, implementing the debug protocol as used within DEMCON to be able to interact with the embedded platform.
- Analyse the suitability of Rust within embedded software context
- Implement embedded debugger protocol in rust
- Port Rustpython to the embedded platform
The student will be supervised by engineers from the software engineering department
