Stage opdracht: Stimulating creativity
Demcon is a high-end technology supplier of products and systems, with focus areas in high-tech, industrial systems & vision, optomechatronic, robotic and medical systems. Demcon supports clients with a wide range of competencies. As a system supplier, Demcon can meet the entire needs of its clients, from proof of principle, prototype and pre-production to serial production.
Creativity is at the base of Demcon. The importance of creativity cannot be underestimated, and the subject deserves aimed attention. Demcon wants to use the creativity techniques on a wide range of topics and phases in a project. For questions such as: “How can Demcon profile itself with regard to the environment” or “An alternative to a bolt connection”. Brainstorm sessions at Demcon were done in mostly the same manner. Demcon has done research on various creativity methods and techniques what has resulted in a practical how-to knowledge base for creative sessions. Demcon wants to be exceptionally good at engineering new solutions.
About the project
While developing these creativity techniques, it became apparent that the process of creativity is strongly influenced by factors as the interior, mental condition, mental preparation and group dynamics.
The goal of this assignment is to improve the psychological aspect of the creativity process.
- Identify key factors for the process of creativity within Demcon.
- Translate the key factors into practical guidelines and improved facilities for creative sessions.
- Stimulate the use of ‘best practice’ methods within the company by giving instructions and presentations.
About your profile
For this assignment, we are looking for a MSc. student:
- Following a MSc. study in Communication, Psychology or related.
- Affinity with the process of creativity.
- Analytical and independent.
- Enthusiastic and proactive.
- Available for a period of at least 14 weeks (longer preferred).
